Recommended use of hand warmers

The heat can be saved
+

If you haven’t quite used up all the heat: put your hand warmers into an airtight bag and seal. The lack of an air supply will simply stop the warming process. The hand warmers will reactivate themselves when they are removed later. This process can be repeated again and again until the entire heat emission period indicated on the product is reached.

Continuous warmth
+

Ensure that the air supply remains steady in order to maintain an optimum, continuous warming experience. The hand warmers should always be used in a semi-open environment - i.e. in gloves, or in jacket or trouser pockets. If you do not move for an extended period of time we recommend that you gently massage the hand warmers in your gloves or jacket pocket. The movement allows the air to flow back into the hand warmers. This keeps the pads continuously warm.

However, if the warming pads suddenly become cold then the air supply has stopped. If this happens, gently massage the hand warmers with your fingers. The warming process is reactivated in 10-15 minutes and the cosy warmth can be enjoyed again.

Hand warmer expiry date
+

The hand warmers can be stored for many years if unopened. You can find the exact expiry date on the packaging. The hand warmers are usually still functional for years after the expiry date has elapsed, however the properties of the activated charcoal warmer may diminish. This means that the overall warming time could reduce and the maximum temperature may be exceeded.

Massaging the hand warmers
+
We recommend that you repeatedly massage the hand warmers with your hands. This mixes the natural contents again and again and the warmers remain continuously warm.
Accelerating the activation
+
In order to accelerate the warming reaction, place two warmers together in the same jacket or trouser pocket for several minutes. The hand warmers will then warm each other up. Never leave the pads lying open.
Instructions
+

Open packaging at the marked position and remove hand warmers. After a few minutes of activation, hold the warmers in your hands, or put it in your gloves or jacket pockets. One-time use: After the warmers have completely cooled down, dispose of them as general waste. Store in dry and cool place. Use by: see edge of packaging.

Avoiding misuse

Do not activate in the air for too long
+

The hand warmers can be placed in a semi-open environment such as a jacket or trouser pocket directly after opening. Air activation is not necessary. The warmer pads will activate themselves after a few minutes.

Activate before you feel cold
+

In order to guarantee an optimum warming experience, we recommend activating the hand warmers before you feel cold. For example, if you have planned a long outdoor walk or you would like to go skiing, it’s best to already start using the pads shortly before your adventure begins. This means that hands will stay evenly warm for many hours.

Do not place hand warmers in shoes
+

This is because the hand warmers heat up to higher temperatures than the insole foot warmers or toe warmers. The top temperature of the hand warmers of 68° Celsius may be uncomfortably warm for some. We recommend using our insole foot warmers or toe warmers to keep your feet comfortably warm.

Do not use while sleeping
+

The pleasant warmth generated by the warmers is transported and distributed throughout the entire body by the blood circulation. This process can be stopped if the hand warmers are pressed firmly against the skin when sleeping. The possible result of this is that the warmth is not optimally distributed and is concentrated on a small area of skin, which is then excessively warmed up.

Warning
+

Prevent direct contact with skin, except with hand palms. Remove the warmer immediately if it is uncomfortable or too warm. Do not use: on children (0-6); while sleeping, on body parts that are not sensitive to warmth. Supervised use only: on children >6, certain older or incapacitated persons. Contact a doctor before use in cases of: diabetes, circulatory disorders, arthritis, allergies, frostbite, bruises, contusions, swelling, heat sensitivity, injured or diseased skin. Do not cut or pierce the warmer. Warmer contains iron powder: In the event of contact with eyes or skin, rinse the affected area immediately with water and contact a doctor. If swallowed contact a doctor immediately. Store out of reach of children and animals. Not suitable for medical use. Dispose of in the household waste when cooled. Store in a cool, dry place.
